Air quality in and around Boulder City will not be impacted by the data center.

 

The developers of TS2 understand concerns by residents about how air quality in Boulder City could potentially be affected by the use of generators at the data center. The facility does not rely on generators for daily power. Backup generators will only be used during an emergency or when testing the generators.. The back-up generators will be fueled by biodiesel and are expected to produce emissions well within allowable limits by local, state, and federal air quality guidelines. 

 

The project will also have its own onsite fire protection system designed with input and approval from the Boulder City Fire Department. The fire protection system will meet or exceed all Boulder City Fire Department requirements. The fire control system is located on the project site and does not affect the City’s water resources.
