Air quality in and around Boulder City would not be impacted by the data center.
The developers of TS2 understand concerns from residents about how air quality in Boulder City could potentially be affected by the use of generators at the data center. The facility would not rely on generators for daily power. Backup generators would only be used during an emergency or when testing the generators. The back-up generators would be fueled by biodiesel and would be expected to produce emissions well within limits allowed by local, state, and federal air quality guidelines.

The project would also have its own onsite fire protection system designed with input and approval from the Boulder City Fire Department. The fire protection system would meet or exceed all Boulder City Fire Department requirements. The fire control system would be located on the project site and would not affect the City’s water resources.
