VISUAL IMPACT

The project will not affect the aesthetics of the surrounding desert.

A common question has been about how the buildings will look out in the desert. TS2 will work with the City to determine the best building colors and landscaping that fit the surrounding environment. The height of the building will comply with all City ordinances and the lower elevation of the building will reduce how much of the facility will be visible by residents.

Lighting around the building will focus on safety and will avoid unnecessary brightness in the night sky. The design will follow all Boulder City regulations, including requirements to reduce light pollution in accordance with the Dark Skies Project.

In 2023, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) completed an environmental assessment for 80 acres of nearby BLM managed land to evaluate its potential use for a solar energy project, as required under the National Environmental Policy Act. This review applies only to the federal parcel. The adjacent 88.5‑acre City‑owned site proposed for the TS2 data center is not subject to an environmental assessment requirement.
